Another hot day.

New cool down tip. Put sprinkler on foot rest. Ahhhhhh. Unfortunately thunderstorms due tonight. It is so dry. Uh Oh, I hear some rumblings now:(

96 Today

Kept it cool at shop today. No record breaking temps like Portland. Came home to cool house. Dogs enjoyed the little air conditioner running today. Wish we could sit outside, but still to hot.
Connie greeted customers today with a fan blowing his locks like a super STAR!

Heat Wave

WOW Its hot. Had to stay inside with air conditioning on. But it did cool off and Flea went bobbing for apples.

Weekend

Dogs looked so clean and shiney on Friday. Had a great weekend. Not to hot here yet, but heading that way. Early morning at the dog park, and then home to read the latest Janet Evanovich book, Finger Lickin Fifteen. It was good some laugh out loud moments.

Hot Day in Portland

The Flea and I got a early start to Stumptown show in Portland. Was going to spend afternoon in local park reading a book but by the time we arrived in Gresham, Flea was limp, feeling the heat and I was needing some relief too. So we headed right to the Motel Hilton 6, on 84.

Yeah!! they had a room ready and we checked in.

I had gotten book two in the Sookie Stackhouse books, that True Blood is based on. Sat in air conditioned room and read it in one GULP. So good.

I have HBO in room and will try and see a episode.

Sister Lisa drove into town after work and leaving Flea in room with TV and fans went to a all time family favorite, Tad's Chicken and Dumplings, on the Sandy River.

Ohhhhh, it was so good. My garlic shrimp good..... the sides out of this world. Smoked Salmon chowder to start. Green beans and bacon, and a dumpling with chicken gravy. Roll me out the door on a gurney:) The dumpling I could not stop eating.

Had a great time, was so beautiful out on river. Fun to catch up.

Emmy's Pool

Heat wave is hitting here this week. Going to change my trip start time on Friday to morning instead of afternoon. 95 on Friday and Saturday. Got Emmy Lou's swimming pool out and cleaned. Put sprinkler in to fill. Emmy poked around in it a little, but guess who jumped, played and dunked in it, The Flea. So cute. Water very cold, I had my dog tired toes in it. Felt good. She ran threw, jumped in and played with sprinkler. Her Aunt Cheryl would have been proud.

True Blood

TRUE BLOOD

I read the first book by Charlaine Harris in her Sookie Stackhouse series that the HBO series True Blood is based on. Its great can't wait to read the next one. Usually you read the books first, but it wasn't a disappointment. Author has a great humor and romantic twist. Anyone want me to pass on the first season of True Blood, let me know. It was great.

Isabella

Here is Isabella checking out dog house. Not sure if she would ever use it, but she is a cute model. She is going in tomorrow to have a teeth cleaning and to be spayed.

I have had this dog house since Setters were pups. I always wanted to paint, have been intrigued by charity dog houses. But I wanted to paint mine to use in yard to extend my fence. Got it done today and I like it. So does Isabella.

Sun Spot

Today turned out better then advertised. But this am there was only on small sunny spot. Emmy Lou and 5 min pins.

Saturday

Another beautiful day at park. And then a relaxing day on patio.

Topsy Turvey

Out of the 3 planters that came in the pack, only mine is going great. Cheryl's got "mold" in CA. Hers had the best chance of producing. Mine got beat to death by hail storm and I re planted the top part. But now my zucchini is blooming and there are tiny tomatoes on the bottom. Only hope they beat the frost.
It is so exciting!

Tuesday

Unfortunately firefighters are working on a fire on Black Butte and 2 or 3 other fires in the state. Butte fire is in very rugged area, pretty much can only fight from the air. Its away from the highway and resort. So no evacuations so far.

I thought Brooke Shields comments today at Memorial were heartfelt. His little girls words were heartbreaking, but the weird family hovering around her was upsetting.

Tuesday

A busy week back at work. Isn't it always, after a holiday. Out putting garbage cans away and come back to find The Flea furiously eating a MUSHROOM!!. Just had a article by local vet in paper, only safe mushroom to eat is the one that doesn't kill you:(
So rushed in to get Peroxide. Only 4 Min Pins and Emmy Lou had access. So dosed everyone. The poor old girl Isabella, Kharma, and Irene only bile. My trouble team Lou and Flea puked up alot of mushroom pieces. Everyone ate well and seems fine but will keep my eye on them all.

4th of July

Beautiful Day. Another day at the dog park. Local officials said their crackdown on illegal fireworks worked. They had only 2 warnings in all of Bend. They could have come to my block and caught 2 or 3 over the tree top illegal displays. But no worries, no big fires in Bend.

Had a sprinkling and distant thunder. And then the sky cleared. Weird.

True Blood

I have been reading so much about the HBO series True Blood. Sounds so great. I had first season in my hand two weeks ago at Wal Mart, but put back on shelf. So went to Wally World this am.... They were sold out. 4 stops later and 12$ more, I have the first season. After a trip to B&N I'm set:)

What a great start to a 3 day weekend!!! Connie was lounging.... then he had his wake up call from The Flea. Then off to dog park. Emmy Lou my Velcro dog got separated in the 17 acre park. I wasn't worried, but I was ready to go. We had been there a hour and they took out my picnic table. A nice guy with a field setter brought her out to me. She was glad to see us.

Happy 4th

So looking foreword to a great 3 day weekend. The weather here is great. Going to shop for groceries tomorrow and then be ready to hide out at home and take care of everything on my list. Here is a sneak peek of the 4th of July from last year.
