Dunkin Donuts

Okay these New England people are crazy about Dunkin Donuts. There is a shop on every corner, all around airport and in every grocery store. They are our "Starbucks". I stopped at one, but they don't have Mocha's so it took me a minute to pick something. Not crazy about them. But they do have those great donut holes.

Sweeps May 29

Sweepstakes Judging today. Didn't get a look. Judge instead of asking us to do our down and back again, because Flea was leaning heavily on lead, followed us around ring a little. Freaked Flea out. Oh well one more day. Great news from the day is that Flyer, owned by Carol and Mary Olsen, shown by Salina was Best in Sweepstakes.

May 29 souvenir hunt

Okay this is getting crazy. I have no souvenirs. My trips are all starting at 6 am, no stores open except the get and go's. I don't even have a magnet.
When I was out on the Cape, I stopped at a little store and she had no trinkets. Said they just hadn't come in for the "summah". But her and another customer started reminiscing about a Cape Cod summer tradition that on Memorial Day weekend kids starting their summer breaks would put on a bracelet made of fisherman's rope, and you would keep it on till Labor Day or it rotted off your wrist, which ever came first. Store clerk said one year her Dad snuck in while kids were sleeping and cut it off their wrists. What a fun tradition.

Friday trip to Rhode Island

Got up early again and headed to Providence, Rhoda Island. Ever since I was a kid, I have been a state travel counter. So when I saw the chance to get another state, in a short amount of time I took it. Hey I grew up going on a road trip that stopped in Indiana to see President Truman's birthplace. My Dad loved any tourist attraction. The mirrored house in St Petersburg, FL or driving up Pikes Peak in a old Buick station wagon and towing a trailer going 5 miles a hour to get to the top.
Got a little lost trying to take back roads so had to stick to 4 lane roads. Yesterdays trip to Cape Cod, I was able to take their "Hwy 101" it was very well marked
Last night was the Top Twenty. Very nice. Unfortunately there were only 8 dogs here. Came back to room and put one of the club baskets together for the MPCA raffle. Came out nice. I had picked up alot of great area sports teams souvenirs.

Thur Futurity Judging

Futurity class was long especially when it doesn't go well.We didn't show as well as day before. Not a professional judge, but one a min pin breeder, was our judge today. So Mrs Swilling took along time to make up her mind and didn't manage the 14 puppies in class very well. But she picked out a nice puppy. I'm surprised but I don't have the winner marked in my book. I think it might have been the 6-9 mos puppy bitch from Flea's class. But there is always tomorrow.
I'm blaming our lack of success on the the yucky tick Flea got on her ear out in the grass around the hotel. I noticed her shaking her head and thought, "oh no" she has a grass seed. Picked her up and a tick had just latched onto the inside of her ear. Ran into room and swiped it off with room key card.
Top Twenty tonight. Looking foreword to dressing up and seeing all the great dogs.

Oh no. As many of you heard, my laptop crashed "again" in Boston, but I continued to take pictures and keep a journal.
Futurity starts at 1:00pm so I got off early at 6 am and drove to Cape Cod. I mean we all have heard of it, the Kennedy's live there. I had to go. It was a easy drive.
The fence in the sand is such a iconic symbol of East coastline. Its in every movie. Either the couple is kissing on the other side or someone is getting murdered behind it.
